Memories of a Foregone Era captures the highs and lows of the storied football history of Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout the twentieth century, beginning with the early years of “Pro” Burton followed by the legendary years of Pete Dimperio to the latter years of George Webb, the Bulldogs had secured a place in the annals of high school football in Western Pennsylvania. It is a piece of history that the author Carmen Pellegrino, a Westinghouse alumnus, has put together in his own heartfelt words. His deep passion for the game of football is a reflection of the desire he always had to be a small part of the Bulldog spirit. To rekindle and provide a memorable volume for all Westinghouse High School alumni to enjoy would be a reward for his countless hours of research. During this endeavor he was able to recapture not only his memories but those of the many alumni that he met with throughout his historical journey.
