Bill Pekarek describes himself as just a little old country boy, which is not to say that he grew up in the hills, wearing overalls and going barefoot. No, this country boy is university educated and spent more than 40 years in the electronic, automotive and nuclear power industries. But his opinions and feelings about all things American spring from simpler times and old-fashioned family values, and there is something refreshing about the complete lack of rhetoric and sopistry in his writings. Mr. Pekarek has opinions on just about every topic that touches the average person: politics, religion, the economy, prejudice, drugs...and he offers a lot of good common sense advice on subjects as diverse as raising children, buying a house, choosing a mate, and leaving a legacy. You can either read this collection of comments and musings from beginning to end, or you can just open it up at any page. Either way, you will find in the company of a man who is talking to you as if you were just across the table, talking to you about the things in life that we all care about. You won't always agree with him, and he wouldn't want you to. But he may make you re-think some things, and he may even change your mind about some others. In the end, you'll at least know you've had a good conversation.
