The Last Rememberer... by Norman Cliff is a collection of poems that lend perspective to aging, loss, and grief. But this collection is also rich in ironic, whimsical, quirky and sometimes strikingly visual pieces that demonstrate his unique views. He writes in a language that is clear, fresh and striking with nearly all of his poems in unrhymed iambic meter. The title poem, The Last Rememberer, speaks of the everyday memories of people and events that we once had in common with family and friends. It reminds us that as our contemporaries die, we become the sole bearer of these memories. They are uniquely our own and will one day be gone as we ourselves pass on. Norman Cliff spent most of his professional academic career at the University of Southern Califnornia. He has three sons and six grandchildren and makes his home in the Southwest.
